Word of Mouth reinvents all elements of digital dating, including the discovery and dialogue. Each feature is carried out with one purpose in mind: to make the users relate to what really counts before the appearance factor comes into play.
Emoji Preview System
Before the revelation of profile photos, the matches would only be shown emojis selected by the corresponding users. This amusing enigma stimulates fantasies and creates a real level of expectation of what lies ahead.
Interest-Driven Discovery
The matching algorithm compares hobbies, values, life goals, and personality types to bring out prospects that are very compatible with the user so that he/she can see the person that the user would actually want to date.
Bio-First Browsing

Concept Validation
Hold focus groups of single people who have been sick and tired of the appearance-crazed dating applications, confirming that matching on a personality basis prior to the first tap of a keyboard key is warranted.

We had to make several prototypes that examined various reveal effects, emoji-choosing user interfaces, and our preference for bio presentation before we settled on the ideal mystery/information mix.
